you go girl!

LOS ANGELES -- Madonna intends to sign a $120 million recording and touring deal with live entertainment promoter Live Nation Inc., according to a person familiar with contract negotiations between the pop superstar and her longtime record company, Warner Music Group Corp.
The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the confidential nature of the matter, said Wednesday that Madonna's management told Warner last week that she would accept Live Nation's offer after the record company refused to match the deal.
Madonna's last contract with the New York-based company calls for her to deliver one studio album and a greatest hits record.
Warner Music and Live Nation declined to comment. A call to Madonna's publicist was not immediately returned.

desperately seeking paranoia

As the theater version of Desperately Seeking Susan prepares to open in London's West End (featuring the music of Blondie), Debbie Harry says Madonna stole her look back in the 80's:
"I came right up against the Madonna thing. Maybe it’s my paranoia but she had a lot of my looks. If you look closely, sometimes there’s pictures of her and me that completely overlap. She [Madonna] was getting such a huge push from Warners, I was definitely on the B-list. It was a hard period for me. I don’t think anybody knew how to market me or what to do with me. I was like a fish out of water."
