Burger-Licious (Guilt Free)...........

Morningstar Farms vegetarian products are a staple in my kitchen. As a "part-time"vegetarian, I depend on them for a significant part of my protein intake. Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patties are one of my favorites.

Being a BzzAgent, I received a sample and coupons for Morningstar Farms products.

Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patties are made from textured vegetable protein, which is combined with vegetables like mushrooms, water chestnuts, onions, carrots, green bell peppers, red bell peppers and black olives to make a very tasty and healthful burger patty. I can practically get a full serving of veggies just by eating one of these burgers. Since I usually don't have much time to prepare dinner, I use them to make burgers every Monday night. They're quick and easy to prepare, and are far superior to anything I could make from scratch.
They're also very low calorie. They have only 110 calories, and 3.5 grams of fat per patty. They have a full ten grams of protein, and are also high in potassium and dietary fiber. The sodium is 350 mg per patty, however, so you'll definitely want to limit yourself to one.
They're very versatile. They can be microwaved, but they usually taste better when sauteed in a frying pan or even grilled I've also prepared these patties like salisbury steaks, with gravy, mashed potatoes and lots of non-starchy vegetables. This method of preparation is a nice change of pace from burgers. You can also slice them or crumble them up to use in recipes.  Morningstar Farms products are wrapped in twos, so you'll need to put the other burger in a plastic bag if you use only one.
I like to make my own buns to go with these patties. However, when I don't have time to bake my own hamburger buns, I usually purchase e 100% Whole Wheat Sandwich Buns, mainly because they're smaller than regular buns, and therefore lower in calories.
Morningstar Farms Garden Veggie Patties are a quality product, and an excellent part of a healthy vegetarian diet......even if it is just "part time"  :)
